"As a working and touring singer-songwriter myself, I am supercharged that Loudon Wainwright III is coming to Peoples Bank Theatre," said Todd Burge, Director of The Esbenshade Series at Marietta College. "His songs are deeply personal and often hilarious, transforming what we believe is possible in songwriting. You must experience this free event!"

The Esbenshade Series funds this free series through the Frederica G. Esbenshade Memorial Fund. Established in 1980 by Harry H. Esbenshade Sr. and Harry H. Esbenshade Jr., the series aims to bring a diverse array of lectures, performances, and programs to the campus and community.

Wainwright first gained fame with his hit "Dead Skunk" in 1972. With a career spanning over five decades, he has released 27 albums, including his Grammy Award-winning album "High Wide & Handsome." His latest release, "Lifetime Achievement," showcases his unique talent as a storyteller through music, continuing to captivate audiences with his rich, narrative-driven songwriting.

Wainwright's contributions extend beyond music; he has authored a memoir, created a one-man theatrical show titled "Surviving Twin," and has made numerous appearances in film and television. His performances blend humor with poignant reflections on life, love, and loss.

This concert promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with music and storytelling from one of America's most beloved singer-songwriters.
