by Tom Perry

Marietta, Ohio (04/18/2019) — Marietta College's Department of Music will conduct its annual Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 26th. The concert will be held at the First Congregational Church, 318 Front St., Marietta.

"This is our end-of-year concert and I'm very excited to showcase what we've been working on all semester," said Dr. Jay Dougherty, Director of Choral Activities. "The students have worked hard and they're more prepared than they've been for any other concert I've conducted since I've been here."

Performing will be the Concert Choir, Women's Choir and Floodstage, an a cappella group like the popular group Pentatonix.

"The audience is in for a real treat," Dougherty said. "The final number, If Music Be The Food of Love, also serves as the title of the concert and it is a combined performance with all the ensembles. It's sure to be a crowd-pleaser."

The concert is free and open to the public.
