Gallery 310 explores the intersections of color and fabric in fall exhibition: "Color Entwined"

Marietta, OH (09/03/2025) — The Marietta College Art Department is proud to present "Color Entwined", a three-person exhibition featuring the work of artists Molly Fitzpatrick, Andrea Myers, and Marietta College alumnus Mark Olshansky '50. The exhibition will be on display in Gallery 310 from Sept. 10 through Dec. 2, 2025, with an artists' reception scheduled for Friday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

"Color Entwined" reflects the interconnectivity of color between the exhibiting artists. Through bold use of fabric and thread, each artist invites viewers to reflect on their own relationships with these materials - both tactile and emotional, personal and shared.

Molly Fitzpatrick received her BFA in Fiber and Materials from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Her home textiles are featured and sold at the Museum of Modern Art Design Store in New York City and Nordstrom.

Andrea Myers, who received her MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, transforms found and repurposed fabrics into densely layered installations and picture planes. Myers' work has been exhibited internationally, most recently, in Tokyo, Japan, and the Springfield Museum of Art in Springfield, Ohio.

Mark Olshansky, a Marietta College alumnus from the class of 1950, has worked with wool for decades, describing his craft as "intuitive." While creating, he studies the constructions of composers including Verdi, Brahms, and Bach, allowing music to inform his process. artwithwool.com

"Color connects us all and serves as a unifying element in daily life. We might choose a favorite shirt for its hue or select certain colors to shape and enhance the atmosphere of our living spaces," said Jolene Powell, McCoy Professor of Art and director of Gallery 310.

Gallery 310 is located on the third floor of the Hermann Fine Arts Center at Marietta College. "Color Entwined" can be viewed during gallery hours, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or by appointment by contacting gallery director and art professor, Jolene Powell at powell@marietta.edu.
