Marietta College's Art Department Senior Capstone Exhibition opens April 1
Marietta, Ohio (03/21/2022) — The Marietta College Art Department is pleased to present its annual Senior Capstone Exhibition on display in the Atrium Gallery from April 1st through May 7th, featuring the work of the department's senior artists and designers.
There will be an Artist Reception from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Friday, April 1st.
The students with artwork on display are:
- Noah Coleman '22 (Dayton, Ohio), Graphic Design, created a car-themed brewery while referencing his love of cars by creating unique packaging.
- Ashton Helmke '22 (Defiance, Ohio), Graphic Design, digitally illustrated a series of posters that feature iconic fictional female characters.
- Clay Mastin '22 (Springfield, Ohio), Graphic Design, designed street-wear fashion that utilizes original pattern designs.
- Brett McGettigan '22 (Ventnor, New Jersey), Graphic Design, redesigned iconic movie posters to debunk COVID-19 vaccination myths, titled Only in the Movies.
- Cal Rutter '22 (Marietta, Ohio), Studio Art and Psychology, created a series of oil paintings that depict trees as symbols of psychological diagnoses
- Mollie Swygart '21 (Lewistown, Ohio), Studio Art and English, created a series of collages referencing the TS Elliot poem, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock."
The Atrium Gallery is located on the third floor of the Hermann Fine Arts Center at Marietta College. Gallery hours are 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Atrium Gallery observes all Marietta College holidays and breaks.
