Employees to be honored during service award ceremony on May 7

Those being recognized have combined for 570 years at Marietta College

Marietta, OH (05/01/2024) — Marietta College will recognize 36 employees for their years of consecutive full-time employment and five retirees during the annual Employee Service Award and Retirement Recognition Ceremony at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.

President Margaret Drugovich is pleased to recognize each employee for milestone years of service, starting at five years and continuing in five-year increments up to 35 years of service.

Those recognized for their service to the College have combined for 570 years. Four employees - Debbie Egolf (Chemistry), Ken Itzkowitz (Philosophy), Grace Johnson (Business & Economics) and Dave McShaffrey (Biology) - are celebrating 35 years of employment at Marietta. At the same time, Jackie Khorassani (Center for Entrepreneurship & Career Development) is the only employee celebrating 30 years.

Also, being honored on May 7 are:

25-year awards: Brian Brewer (Athletics), Angela Burdiss (Library), and Richard Danford (Student Life).

20-year awards: Randy Hesson (Physical Plant), Craig Howald (Physics), Holly Menzel (Mathematics), Matt Menzel (Mathematics), Lori Smith (Communication), Merewyn Weinkauf (Music).

15-year awards: Andy Felt (Theatre), Tara Meagle (Advancement), Leanna Price (English), Linda Roesch (Academic Affairs), Sara Rosenstock (Graphic Design), Jaclyn Tate (Sports Medicine), and Donna Venham (Physician Assistant Program).

10-year awards: Kevin Alten (Physician Assistant Program), Duong Le (Business & Economics), Anita McCutcheon (Building Services), Andrea Richardson (Chemistry), and Tina Thomas (Business & Economics).

5-year awards: Andrew Beck (Geology), Brent Beeson (Music Therapy), Chantal Centofanti-Fields (Advancement), Zack Feltrop (Athletics), Michael Mulvey (Athletics), Greg Myhr (Athletics), Alex Perry (Leadership), Juan Carlos Ramirez Dorronsoro (Environmental Engineering), Amanda Rider (Education), and Amy Yekel (Music).

Also being recognized are five retirees - Barbara Binegar, Legacy Library Assistant (1988-2024), Timothy Cokeley, Tradesman (xx-2024), Ben Ebenhack, Professor/Chair of Petroleum Engineering & Geology (2010-24), Steven Spilatro, McCoy Professor of Biology (1988-2024), and Eric Fitch, Associate Professor of Environmental Science (1997-2024).
