Eileen Walsh participated in Marietta's Alternative Winter Break to Nicaragua

Eileen Walsh (Class of 2016) of Marlton, NJ, was one of 12 Marietta College students who traveled to Nicaragua as part of an Alternative Winter Break session.

Walsh, a graduate of Bishop Eustace Preparatory, is majoring in Psychology.

The students spent 10 days in Nicaragua. The group teamed up with Bridges to Community, a "non-profit community development organization" with a mission to bring people from different cultures together to "work, learn and reflect." During the service trip, students were given the opportunity to work directly with Nicaraguan people to assist in the building of houses in the region of Nindiri, Nicaragua.

Located in Marietta, Ohio, at the confluence of the Muskingum and Ohio rivers, Marietta College is a four-year liberal arts college. Tracing its roots to the Muskingum Academy begun in 1797, the College was officially chartered in 1835. Today Marietta College serves a body of 1,400 full-time students.
