Marietta College students to move out of campus housing over the next 12 days

Marietta, Ohio (05/05/2020) — From today through Sunday, May 17th, approximately 340 Marietta College students will completely move out of campus residence halls, announced Dr. Richard Danford, Vice President for Student Life.

Of the students who need to complete their move-out, approximately half have been scheduled, and the Office of Community Living is working to schedule the remaining students.

"At the direction of the Ohio Department of Health, we presented a proposal to the Marietta Health Department outlining protocols that we'll follow in order to ensure that the move-out process doesn't present a significant increase in the likelihood of community spread of COVID-19," Danford said.

Among the preventative steps being taken by the College are spreading the move-outs across a 12-day period beginning at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 5th, and scheduling no more than three students to move out during the same time frame from a single floor or wing of a residence hall.
