Marietta College receives National Endowment for the Arts grant

Women of the World to conduct three-day residency in the spring

Marietta, Ohio (09/04/2019) — The National Endowment for the Arts is awarding Marietta College a grant of $10,000 to support bringing the quartet, Women of the World, to the campus and Marietta community.

"All Americans should have access to the arts," said Mary Anne Carter, acting chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. "Grants such as this one to Marietta College are an important part of the National Endowment for the Arts' work to ensure people in communities both large and small across the nation have the opportunity to experience the arts."

Women of the World is an all-female quartet that performs in multiple languages and strives to celebrate the beauty of diversity. As part of a three-day residency during the spring semester, the quartet will perform one full, 90-minute concert for the entire community and offer presentations to the student body on diversity and issues of inclusion.

"This is the first grant I worked on when I arrived at Marietta College back in March," said Chantal Centofanti-Fields, Grants and Foundation Officer. "This is very exciting and we are honored that the National Endowment for the Arts recognized the importance of this program for the College and community."
