Esbenshade Series welcomes Emmy-nominated author Fran Lebowitz on March 5th

Ticket reservations begin February 20th

Marietta, Ohio (02/05/2023) — Marietta College is pleased to welcome Emmy-nominated author, journalist, and social commentator Fran Lebowitz as part of the 2022-23 Esbenshade Series. Lebowitz takes the stage at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 5th, at Peoples Bank Theatre. Tickets are free but are limited to four per person. Reservations begin at 10:00 a.m., February 20th, at www.peoplesbanktheatre.com.

Lebowitz stands out as one of the most insightful social commentators in a cultural landscape filled with endless pundits and talking heads. Her essays and interviews offer her acerbic views on current events and the media - as well as pet peeves including tourists, baggage-claim areas, after-shave lotion, adults who roller skate, children who speak French, or anyone who is unduly tan. The New York Times Book Review calls Lebowitz an "important humorist in the classic tradition." Purveyor of urban cool, Lebowitz is a cultural satirist whom many call the heir to Dorothy Parker.
